How I Picked My Vacation Rental

Grand Strand vacation rentalsThis past summer we decided we wanted to rent a house when we went on vacation to Coastal South Carolina instead of a hotel like we've done in the past. I learned a lot in the process and I've written this list of what you should consider when choosing a rental house. Here are some tips that will help you when looking at Grand Strand vacation rentals.

1. First figure out your price range, especially the maximum.
It's important to know your budget and have a price range in mind when looking for a vacation rental.

2. Get the type of rental that you really want. After all, it’s your vacation!
With so many Grand Strand vacation rentals to choose from, it's important to figure out how much space you need before you start looking.

3. Decide on a location.
All of the Grand Strand vacation rentals I saw were near theme parks and area attractions and that's what we wanted. Do you want to be able to walk to restaurants? Would you rather be able to walk to a golf course?

4. Choose the amenities you’d most like to have.
Grand Strand vacation rentals offer a variety of amenities that include furnishings, kitchens fully equipped with state-of-the-art appliances, a washer/dryer, private pools, tennis, business centers, broadband Internet, hot tubs and Jacuzzis.

5. Look for specials.
There are always special deals on vacation rentals. Because there are so many vacation rentals available, homeowners and leasing companies are constantly striving to offer the lowest prices. You can save a lot of money here!

Can't Beat These Condo Prices!

Myrtle Beach condo rentals
Condo-World has a "Best Price Guaranteed" promise on their Myrtle Beach condo rentals. They say "No one beats Condo World!" This deal is so fabulous. They will match or beat any other advertised price on a comparable unit including rent-by-owner websites. It doesn’t get any better than that.

I’ve used them in the past and they're a good company. They offer Myrtle Beach condo rentals with pools or not, penthouses, and golf packages, all along the Grand Strand of Myrtle Beach. They have winter rentals, too. Best of all is that they have special deals going on all the time. I check their website at least daily when I'm planning a trip to South Carolina to make sure I get the best deal they have. Nobody ever seems to be able to beat it. I mean, how do you beat a "best price guarantee"? You just can't.

I will always recommend Myrtle Beach condo rentals over hotels because the amenities are much better and it doesn't cost more. I have my own private space with my own fully equipped kitchen and washer/dryer. Sometimes I get a rental with an outdoor pool and a Jacuzzi. It's always quieter than a hotel room and much larger. It just meets my needs much better.

Myrtle Beach Boardwalk Bar

Myrtle Beach Boardwalk BarIf you’re headed to Myrtle Beach you have to check out The Bowery. It’s a downtown Myrtle Beach Boardwalk Bar, a honky-tonk that is one of the Grand Strand’s legendary institutions. They have ice cold draft beer and live music. There’s karaoke and there’s food available, too. The place has been in business since World War II so you know it has to be good. In fact, this is the bar that the band Alabama got their start in while working for tips! How cool is that!

People walking up and down Ocean Boulevard and the Boardwalk cant' help themselves but to come into this Myrtle Beach Boardwalk Bar -- the live music from The Bounty Hunters, pulls them in. One of the band’s newest members, since July 2007, Philip Swaby, is a curious sight in this rebel-flagged-bedecked unashamed redneck Mecca.

Swaby, 46, is from the Washington, D.C., area and is of Jamaican descent. He’s a classically trained violinist, who’s been playing the Charlie Daniels’ hit “The Devil Went Down to Georgia,” almost since the tune hit the airwaves in 1979. “I’ve been asked to play that song thousands of times,” Swaby said, who is tall, rail thin, eloquent and an intellectual who knows he’s in an unusual position as a black man playing country music in a South Carolina honky-tonk. “I realize how unusual it is to be an anomalous musician,” he said, “but I’ve never

Bars in Myrtle Beach

Bars in Myrtle Beach
There’s probably thousands of Bars in Myrtle Beach that I could have gone to so I was really lucky to have stumbled across The Bowery. This place has been around since 1944 and they sure know how to have a good time and make you feel welcome.

The Bowery, is a downtown Myrtle Beach honky-tonk, and one of the Grand Strand’s legendary institutions. They’ve been serving cold draft beer and live music since World War II. Alabama got its start there in the 1970s playing for tips and working on songs that would lead the band to the distinction as the best selling group in country music history. Today they have such musicians as Lee Travis and The Bounty Hunters, with fiddler Philip Swaby as its featured soloist.

Every day people walking up and down Ocean Boulevard and the Boardwalk are drawn in by the live music from The Bounty Hunters, a band Bowery owner Victor Shamah manages. The play every Monday through Saturday nights. At nearby Duffy’s I found karaoke 7 nights a week and some very good food too, I might add.

Their upcoming schedule has some other good bands playing if you’re into going out for a whole lot of fun some night. Check out this rundown:
July 17 - The Jeremy Graham Band
    July 24 - Doug McCormick
July 31 - Matt Boswell & Hillbilly Blues Band
    August 7 - Southern Drawl

Of all the places I could have wound up that night I went out on the town I’m glad it was this place out of all the Bars in Myrtle Beach.

Myrtle Beach condo rentals

Myrtle Beach condo rentalsOur family will be in Myrtle Beach for the 4th of July Weekend this year and found some awesome Myrtle Beach condo rentals for our family to stay in while here. These are oceanfront so we'll be able to watch the fireworks on July 4th! The view is going to be so awesome I can hardly wait.

We were looking for something different to do this year while we're in the area and this sounds interesting. The Ocean Drive Presbyterian Church in North Myrtle Beach will present their July 4th Cantata on Sunday at 4 pm. It features patriotic compositions, solos, duets, recitatives, and choruses by the North Myrtle Beach All City Choir. Tickets are free but you have to pick them up at the North Myrtle Beach Chamber.

I also want to go to the Myrtle Beach Fourth of July Concert that is going to be held at the Myrtle Beach Memorial Stadium on July 4th. The celebrations include music, food and fireworks among other festivities. This will be a big, all-day event! By the end of the night, when we're probably going to be exhausted, it will be nice not to have to go very far to retreat to the Myrtle Beach condo rentals we'll be staying in.

Myrtle Beach Condos

Myrtle Beach Condos
If you're coming to Myrtle Beach you'll want to check out these condos we stayed in. Tilghman Resort has some beautiful Myrtle Beach Condos on the northern end of Myrtle Beach. Built in 2005, these Myrtle Beach Condos are available year round, welcoming the "snowbirds" and those looking for a summer fling with the sandy shores of South Carolina.

This is really a great place for families. The beach was only a short walk across the street and the rooms were well-appointed. There's pools and lazy rivers and exercise facilities, too. There was lots for kids to do right on the premises. Anything that keeps my kids happy keeps me happy too.

I'm staying in a North Myrtle Beach condo rental this summer to get out of the main stream of the busyness in Myrtle Beach. North Myrtle Beach is a wonderful seaside town with nice communities and plenty of rentals.

The North Myrtle Beach condo rental I found is with Condo Vacation Rentals and I have a fairway view this time. They also offer ocean front of course, waterway view, ocean view and the fairway view that I chose. Beautiful, luxurious condos that feel like a home away from your home. I'm completely satisfied and you probably will be too!
