Bars in Myrtle Beach

Bars in Myrtle Beach
There’s probably thousands of Bars in Myrtle Beach that I could have gone to so I was really lucky to have stumbled across The Bowery. This place has been around since 1944 and they sure know how to have a good time and make you feel welcome.

The Bowery, is a downtown Myrtle Beach honky-tonk, and one of the Grand Strand’s legendary institutions. They’ve been serving cold draft beer and live music since World War II. Alabama got its start there in the 1970s playing for tips and working on songs that would lead the band to the distinction as the best selling group in country music history. Today they have such musicians as Lee Travis and The Bounty Hunters, with fiddler Philip Swaby as its featured soloist.

Every day people walking up and down Ocean Boulevard and the Boardwalk are drawn in by the live music from The Bounty Hunters, a band Bowery owner Victor Shamah manages. The play every Monday through Saturday nights. At nearby Duffy’s I found karaoke 7 nights a week and some very good food too, I might add.

Their upcoming schedule has some other good bands playing if you’re into going out for a whole lot of fun some night. Check out this rundown:
July 17 - The Jeremy Graham Band
    July 24 - Doug McCormick
July 31 - Matt Boswell & Hillbilly Blues Band
    August 7 - Southern Drawl

Of all the places I could have wound up that night I went out on the town I’m glad it was this place out of all the Bars in Myrtle Beach.
